Homer Winter Carnival

The city of Homer becomes a celebration of life in Alaska with the Winter Carnival. For four fun-filled days, events can be found all over Homer, including cross-country skiing races, a crafts fair, snow machine races, and more. The biggest event of the weekend is the parade on Saturday, starting on Pioneer Avenue, with floats, displays, and dancers. Those entering a float or display in the parade have the chance to win money toward shopping locally, and if you're just here to watch, you have the chance to earn candy.
Paint Nite: Birches Be Crazy

If you've ever wanted to paint a masterpiece for your home but weren't sure where to start, then Paint Nite is the event for you. It's a night for adult aspiring artists to get together, have a few drinks, and learn how to paint. The performing artist will guide you through the process of painting, step by step. Everything you could need will be available at the venue: canvases, paints, smocks, and even a selection of drinks for purchase. You can bring your friends to the event, and you can bring your very own painting home at the end of the night.
The Doo Wop Project

The Doo Wop Project follows the history of the doo wop music genre with five talented triple-threat singers, live on stage. The simple beats and engaging melodies will have you and your family tapping your toes or even dancing in your seats. Though doo wop dates back to the middle of the 20th century, you'll recognize some modified versions of songs from modern artists, like Maroon 5 and Amy Winehouse, amongst the classic examples of the doo wop movement. It's a fun musical experience for all at the Atwood Concert Hall in Anchorage.
